Disney+ has recently launched Agatha All Along, a highly anticipated spinoff of the acclaimed series WandaVision, featuring Kathryn Hahn reprising her role as Agatha Harkness. This new series, created by Jac Schaeffer, explores Agatha’s journey as she navigates life under a curse that has stripped her of her powers and memories, placing her in a darkly comedic homage to crime procedural dramas.

Agatha All Along shows why people love villains. They’re just more fun. Agatha All Along retains the whimsical yet eerie tone established in WandaVision, blending elements of horror, comedy, and musicality. In Episode #1: Seekest Thou The Road, we see Agatha as a cynical detective in a small town. Like most Marvel films and tv shows, immediately the story is filled with Marvel lore, echoing the Easter egg-laden style of its predecessor.

I personally love the campiness of the show. It’s spooky complete with a few jumpscares . While we do get a few moments I think the show could push boundaries further in the horror element.

Forgive me but I forgot their would be singing. However it didn’t bother me and “The Ballad of the Witches’ Road,” introduced in Episode 2: Circle Sewn With Fate/Unlock Thy Gate proved to be my favorite episode thus far. The song was well-crafted and surprisingly left me wanting more catchy tunes throughout this series.

As Agatha All Along progresses through its six-episode arc (I’ve seen four episodes thus far), is a great watch just in time for Halloween. With new episodes releasing weekly until the finale on October 30, I remain hopeful for a stronger embrace of horror elements and musical creativity in the episodes to come.

Overall, Agatha All Along is a captivating new chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, pulling us back into its magical world while exploring themes that hit home both personally and in a fun, fantastical way.
