Boarders blends the setting of Gossip Girl with the raw authenticity of Donald Glover’s Atlanta, creating a unique crossover experience.
Set in the prestigious world of British boarding schools, Boarders is a coming-of-age drama that follows the lives of five Black inner-city school teenagers who secure scholarships to St. Gilberts, one of Britain’s oldest and most esteemed boarding schools. The series delves into their journey of adapting to a new environment, forging new friendships, and embarking on paths of self-discovery.
The talented cast includes rising stars Josh Tedeku as Jaheim, Jodie Campbell as Leah, Myles Kamwendo as Omar, Sekou Diaby as Toby, and Aruna Jalloh as Femi.
Tubi is dedicated to introducing more British television to its US streaming platform. Produced by Studio Lambert in association with All3Media International for the BBC, Boarders is executive produced by Taylor, Madeline Sinclair, and Susan Hogg, alongside the BBC’s Nawfal Faizullah and Ayela Butt.
In an exclusive interview, BAFTA-nominated screenwriter Daniel Lawrence Taylor expresses his excitement about bringing the show to North American audiences, particularly highlighting the exploration of race in British society.
Boarders premieres today on Tubi, with all six episodes available for streaming. Explore more insights from my interview with Daniel Lawrence Taylor below:
